In Alaska la più famosa corsa di slitte trainate da cani lungo un percorso che attraversa montagne, fiumi gelati, fitte foreste, tundre desolate con impegni estremi e temperature sotto lo zero. Il 10 Marzo Jeff King, plurivincitore della Iditarod, è transitato con 45′ di ritardo sul campione uscente Lance Mackey al Checkpoint di Unalakleet (Lat. N 63 52,29 Lon. 160 47,22, race mile 674,5 = 1.086Km)
