The Yaesu FTM-350 new APRS capable Mobile Amateur VHF/UHF was on display at the Tokyo Ham Fair 22 August, 2009.
The new FTM-350 GPS/APRS Yaesu’s answer to the Kenwood TM-D710. Standard FTM-350 upgrades the FTM-10 to add packet radio and GPS/APRS capabilities and very large LCD with a radical change of style! Recalls the style of competitors Kenwood TM-D710 and Icom IC-2820. Now the functions of the controls are on the edge of the LCD…….

This new product Yaesu should bring a welcome competition for the radio APRS by Kenwood.

The FTM-350 and FTM-350H, can operate real Dual Ham Band Operation V+V/U+U/V+U, while listening to AM/FM Broadcasts. The new Yaesu rig control head rear panel showing dual speakers. Charging clip for handsfree headset. A very large LCD backlit display, possible 8 front panel colors. Wideband Receiver: 0.5-1.7 (AM) / 76-108 (FM) / 108-250 / 300-1000 MHz (cellular block in some regions) AM / FM / N-FM / W-FM / W-FM Stereo mode. Memories 1500 channels in banks. Dual Band Scope to check a specified frequency range.

Il nuovo Yaesu FTM-350 GPS/APRS è una risposta al Kenwood TM-D710. L’FTM-350 della Standard sviluppa il progetto del FTM-10 con l’aggiunta di funzioni packet radio e capacità di GPS/APRS. Impiega un nuovo Display LCD di grandi dimensioni con cui Yaesu introduce un radicale cambiamento di stile! Questo nuovo Transceiver ricorda lo stile dei concorrenti Kenwood TM-D710 e dell’Icom IC-2820 compresa l’introduzione delle indicazioni delle funzione dei comandi sul bordo del display LCD. Da ricordare che Stanrdard/Yaesu già con il palmare VX-8R ha introdotto il GPS/APRS e dichiarava nella pubblicità: “Un passo avanti della tecnologia”
Questo nuovo prodotto dovrebbe portare una gradità concorrenza nel settore APRS sino ad ora monopolio di Kenwood.
