Il DWR16 della Roke Uk (divisione della Siemens) è un  Ricevitore SDR a conversione diretta (16 bit), down conversion implementata in FPGA • Da collegare  con USB2 al PC o Laptop • Interfaccia GUI e API sotto Windows® • Non ha la variazione continua dei filtri DSP però  dispone di • 74 BW in steps da 56Hz a 32kHz selezionabili in modo diverso per ciascun canale. Il software DWR in dotazione apre più sezioni dedicate ai vari controlli • Permette di ricevere, monitorare lo spettro e controllare 4 canali indipendenti, sintonizzabili rapidamente su tutta la banda HF • Tenere sotto controllo l’intero spettrro di frequenza da 9 kHz a 40 MHz con risoluzione di 1Hz. Il DRW16 è dotato di • Attenuatore automatico o manuale (0dB to -31dB in 1dB steps) • Controllo dell’AGC in automatico (fast medium slow) oppure in manuale con steps di 6dB, valori diversi impostabile per ciscun canale • Frequency Counter dedicato alla sintonia, si attiva anche di volta in volta per ciscun canale monitorato cliccando su una della 4 barre dati dei canali (distinte da 4 colori) che indicano per ciscuno: • Frequenza • Bandwidth • Mode • BFO • AGC • Gain • Level S-meter • ALC • Wav.

ENG: DRW16 employs A/D conversion to directly digitise the entire HF spectrum, Down conversion FPGA, USB2 interface to a PC or laptop  for furter IF filtering, signal demodulation, spectrum display 4 indipendent receiver channels and full HF spectrum. The DWR16 is supplied with a Windows®-based application providing a user-interface for receiver control and signal processing of the received signals.
The interface displays and controls the following functions: • Attenuator: automatic or manual mode (0dB to -31dB in 1dB steps) • Signal level - • Centre frequency: 0 to 40MHz with 1Hz resolution) • Bandwidth: (32kHz to 56Hz with 74 bandwidths) • Demodulation (I/Q, AM, USB, LSB, ISB, CW, FM) • Gain control: automatic (fast medium slow) and manual (6dB steps) • Signal level • Audio output level control: automatic or fixed (2 settings) • Audio output • Recording: I/Q or demodulated signal in .wav format • GUI showing: Simultaneous monitoring and display of four narrowband HF channels and full HF spectrum • Four independent receiver channels tune over entire HF band. E.M.E. Conference 2008, there were more than 168 EME Operators at the 13th International EME Conference 2008 in Florence, Italy (clik for very impressive big image).
EME, Earth-Moon-Earth è un particolare tipo di  radiocomunicazioni amatoriali Terra-Luna-Terra, che utilizza la Luna come riflettore passivo. A Firenza si è tenuta la 13° Conferenza Mondiale EME 2008 a cui hanno partecipato ben 168 Operatori dalle varie parti del mondo. (Cliccare per vedere una immagine grande!)

Everyone I talked with had a great time and thought the conference was excellent: location, facilities, technical sessions, refreshments, banquet, tours - (I especially enjoyed the tour of the Marconi home)… all were wonderful. EME, Earth-Moon-Earth, un tipo di  radiocomunicazioni amatoriali Terra-Luna-Terra. Report e foto di I0NAA

Si è conclusa Domenica 10 Agosto a Firenze la 13ma CONFERENZA MONDIALE dedicata all’attività EME. Sono stati 3 giorni intensi con presentazioni e discussioni di altissimo livello tecnico su tanti argomenti. 

La Conferenza, che si tiene ogni due anni, ha visto riuniti ben 168 OM provenienti da tutte le parti del mondo. L’apertura ufficiale di Venerdi 8 agosto si è tenuta nel grandioso “Salone dei 500″ a Palazzo Vecchio.

I lavori si sono svolti, grazie alla disponibilità della Telocom Italia, all’Auditorium del Palazzo Telecom di Viale Guidoni dotato dei più moderni sistemi multimediali e con l’attenta e cortese assistenza del personale della stessa Azienda. Sul palco si sono avvicendati grandi esperti fra i quali qui possiamo segnalare per brevità: K1JT Joe Taylor, premio nobel per la fisica 1993 per una ricerca sulle pulsars ed autore del celeberrimo programma WSJT che ha consentito comunicazioni via Luna in digitale con bassissima potenza; I0KPT, Piero Tognolatti Ordinario del Raggruppamento Campi Elettromagnetici e Direttore del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Elettronica e dell’Informazione dell’università dell’Aquila che ha presentato un interessantissimo progetto per il coinvolgimento degli EMEers nel progetto ESMO (European Student Moon Orbiter) ed IV3NWV, Nico Palermo, padre del ben noto SDR Perseus, che ha tratttato le performance, in attività EME, dei ricevitori a campionamento a larga banda.

Gli organizzatori, a cui va un grande apprezzamento, hanno curato anche l’aspetto relazionale con programmi collaterali e con una elegante cena di Gala il Sabato al Grand Hotel Mediterraneo; è stato così possibile stabilire non solo rapporti personali fra OM, ma anche fra le famiglie dei partecipanti.
In uno degli ultimi lavori presentati si è discusso della possibilità teorica di comunicazioni radio ”EVE“….. Eart Venus Earth !! La prossima Conferenza EME si terra’ nel 2010 a Dallas.

On Sunday August the 10th was officially closed the 13th EME INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE dedicated to EME activity : 3 intensive days with high level presentations and discussions on several topics.
The Conference, that is organized every two years,  have seen the participation of 168 OM gathering from all the parts of the world. The official opening was  in the magnificent ” Salone dei 500″ in Palazzo Vecchio on Friday August the 8th.
The Conference activity , thanks to the support of TELECOM Italia, was held in the ” Auditorium” located in TELECOM Italia building with the most advanced facilities for conferences under the supervision and help of TELECOM Italia personnel.
The presentations were delivered from very high level experts and , just to mention few of them, we want to remember K1JT, Joe Taylor Nobel prize 1993 for physics for a research  on pulsars and author of the well known program WSJT that allowed EME digital communications with very low power ; I0KPT, Piero Tognolatti Professor of electronics and Director of engineering department at University of L’Aquila who presented a proposal to involve EMEers in the project ESMO (European Student Moon Orbiter) and IV3NWV, Nico Palermo father of Perseus SDR receiver that discussed about
wide band sampling receivers for EME.
The organizers of the Conference did an excellent job in taking also good care of side programs such as the very nice Gala Dinner held on Saturday at Mediterraneo hotel that allowed to establish relationships not only between OM but also between their QRA.
In one of the last papers presented the topics was on the possibility of EVE Earth-Venus-Earth communications ! The next conference will be held in Dallas, Texas in 2010 .

La produzione del transceiver PT-8000 è stata interrotta; The manufacture of the PT-8000 product line has been discontinued

La produzione del Transceiver PT-8000 è stata interrotta! - La Hilberling il 24 luglio 2008 ha rilasciato nel suo sito web la inaspettata e improvvisa news: “Die Produktion der PT-8000 Gerateserie ist eingestellet worden” A causa dei continui ostacoli che dobbiamo superare per garantire la conformità alle specifiche governative e regolamentari a livello di Unione Europea imposte ai fabbricanti, è stato necessario procedere, per ogni modifica su questo transceiver di alte prestazioni, a una costante procedura di adeguamento alla progettazione. Gli obbiettivi di high-design che avevamo fissato per il PT-8000 possono pertanto essere pensate per poche unità prototipo. Invece, per garantire tale elevato livello senza limitazioni in un programma di produzione di serie con tante richieste urgenti di molti venditori, pongono difficoltà che non possono essere superate mantenendo un livello di costo che sia accettabile. Noi siamo molto grati per il grande interesse dimostratoci, mentre questo tentativo era in corso.

ENG: (by forum Hilberling) The manufacture of the PT-8000 product line has been discontinued.
Due to the constant obstacles which we must overcome in ensuring compliance with EU-wide governmental regulations imposed on manufacturers, we were required to make constant design changes to this top-quality transceiver. The very high design goals which we had set for the PT-8000 could be fulfilled in a few prototype units. However, guaranteeing this high standard without limitations in a series production program with many vendors runs into difficulties which cannot be overcome at a cost level which is still acceptable.We are most grateful for the great interest shown in us whilst this project was underway

ENG: HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen: the  InternationalAmateur radio Exhibition with HAMtronic;  Over 17,100 visitors, 180 exhibitors and societies from over 30 countries were represented at this year’s big-show.

Raduno ATV Todi 2008, Radioamatori e nuove tecniche per Amateur Television

TantiRadioamatori, molti con le loro gentili Xyl sono giunti a Todi dalle provincie di Ancona, Arezzo, Siena e da Orvieto, Foligno e Perugia.
Una giornata di splendido sole, una fredda tramontana sotto zero, ritrovo presso la Esco Electronic Surplus Components come daprogramma. - Le sig.re Xyl erano attese da un Pulman che le ha accompagnate in visita alla vicina città di Todi e poi alle 13.00 al ristorante Cibocchi.
