The New ARRL Web Site Delayed to “Get it Right” – !! A new President for the ARRL, Kay Craigie N3KN.

After meeting with ARRL staff on February 23, two days before the new ARRL Web site was to launch, ARRL Chief  Operating Officer Harold Kramer, WJ1B, made the decision to delay the unveiling of the Web site until late March. – The current delay is necessary to assure that we have all of the data connections correct.

VNWA Vector Analyser I0FTG I0NAA I0WYC. – Report 32° Congressino Microonde 2009

DG8SAQ VNWA 2.5 Vector Network Analyser home-brewed from I0FTG, Pippo I0NAA, Mario I0WYC, Sil – Tow DDS oscillators are used for the RF and LO generation. The IF filter is realized through the limited frequency response of the PC soundcard used for signal analysis (typically 10 Hz to 20 kHz) in combination with digital filtering by the PC software.  – See the Some more  VNWA information, pictures and the Links below….>

FTdx-5000 Has the FCC Certificate, ID: K6620361X60, receved December 10, 2009!
That Was Fast….. will be bringing out very soon!

The Main RX (VFO A) is a two-stage down-conversion design 9 MHz first IF and 30kHz second IF . – Yaesu engineers take the down-conversion architecture with narrow ham-band filtering for superior close-in dynamic range. – (Like K3 Elecraft and Orion II Ten-Tec, see the [Note] below!)

The sub RX (VFO B) is not the same! It is a three stage Up-conversion design. The 40.455MHz first IF stage feature 3 roofing filter 15, 6, 3kHz. Each roofinf is a four-pole, monolithic crystal filter (like FT-2000, FT-950). This Sub RX uses a new subdisplay with two EL (Eltro Luminesense) to indicate Sub frequency, graphical wave and menu functions. One EL functions is dedicated at the Main RX.

[Note] Like Orion II IFs: Main Receiver IF1=9 MHz, IF2=455 kHz, IF3=14 kHz (IMD3 101 dB IP3 +24 dBm @ 5kHz) – The Sub Receiver is not the same! IF1=45 MHz, IF2=455 kHz, IF3=14 kHz (+5 dBm @ 20kHz.

FTdx-5000MP. The new Yaesu HF/50MHz 200W Transceiver and SM-5000 Monitor

FTdx-5000 Series – The new Yaesu HF/50 MHz 200W  Transceiver: FTdx-5000MP, FTdx-5000D, FTdx-5000 and the SM-5000 Station Monitor.
The Yaesu FT DX 5000 Series will be formally introduced by Yaesu very soon. Pricing and availability is currently unknown (www.radiocronache…23.11.2009)

!!! FTdx-5000 by Yaesu Broshure: 14 MHz band 2kHz offset 105 dB 3rd-IMD, IP3 +36 dBm, way better than the Elecraft K3 @ 102 dB IP3 +26 dBm!

The FTdx-5000 (Main Receiver only) includes a rather traditional 1st IF 9 MHz (Elecraft K3 1st IF 8,215 MHz) and provides for selectable roofing filters (6-pole crystal) at the first IF to limit the off-frequency signals getting into the receiver.
Note that the roofing filter’s job is only to protect the rest of the receiver, and that the operating bandwidth filtering is performed by the IF DSP (like Elecraft K3 Transceiver).

Our best info about Kenwood’s HF radio plans is that next year (probably at Dayton 2010) they will bring out a new Mid-priced radio (abaut 2000€) that replaces the TS-570 series, at which time they will start designing a new flag-ship, High-end HF +6m radio (abaut 4000/5000€) that could come out as early as 2011….

AO8GTC Event Station for the coming-out of the Gran Telescopio Canarias. By Radio Club EA8RCP

AO8GTC – The big day is getting closer and everything is ready for the coming-out of the Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC – La Palma Is. Canarias Lon.: 17º52’34’’ W | Lat.: 28º45’34’’ N). The formal presentation to society already has a date: on 24th July, the inauguration will take place. The amateur radio of Santa Cruz de La Palma (EA8RCP Club) will trigger the Special event station AO8GTC, on days 25 and 26 July, 2009.

AO8GTC – El gran día se acerca y todo está preparado para la puesta de largo del Gran Telescopio Canarias (La Palma, Islas Canarias). La presentación formal en sociedad ya tiene fecha: el próximo 24 de julio tendrá lugar su inauguración. Con motivo de la inauguración del GTC el próximo día 24 de julio estaremos con el indicativo AO8GTC desde el mismo pié del observatorio los días 25 y 26 de julio.

La presentazione in formato PDF è stata fatta  per il suo Club Radioamatori della Costa Nord di Vancouver, che fa parte della RAC Radio Amateurs of Canada. Il Club NSARC è da tempo attivo per le comunicazioni di pubblico servizio e di emergenza in collaborazione con il loro Centro Operativo Regionale per le Emergenze (COM!): North Shore Emergency Management Office. The special call II0CC was active 20-40 and 80 meters  SSB, CW and DIG on days May 23rd and 24th , 2009 from ARI Perugia. This contact allow 8 points for 5° Diploma COTA 2009, which ends June 20.  In the headquarters of Agello (Pg), the team has collected 741 QSOs!
