Motorola will keep the Vertex Standard LMR, Inc. (Land-Mobile Radio, division), while the amateur, marine and air-band will be under the YAESU Musen Co. Ltd banner. – New Headquarter addres: Tennouzu Park Side Building 2-5-8 Higashi- Shinigawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo and the US subsidiary will be YAESU USA Inc. – See the Link below for read the full letter!

Yaesu Musen Co., Ltd ritorna nel settore amateur, marine and air-band, la famiglia Hasegawa fondatrice della Yesu ne acquista la totale proprietà. Il settore  LMR (Land Mobile Radio) Vertex Standard,  invece, viene totalmente ceduto alla Motorola, dopo quattro anni di jount venture. La data di questi cambiamanti societari  è dichiarata per l’1.01.2012 – - – Happy New Year to All!

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) will launch a tender offer to acquire a controlling interest in Vertex Standard Co., Ltd. (JASDAQ: 6821). Upon successful completion of the tender offer and subsequent restructuring process, Motorola will own 80% of Vertex Standard and Toko Giken, a privately held Japanese company, controlled by Jun Hasegawa, current president and CEO of Vertex Standard, will retain 20%, forming a joint venture. On 5 November 2007, the Board of Directors of Vertex Standard expressed their support of the tender offer. Yaesu, of course, as one of the Vertex Standard operations, will be included in this exciting development…… omissis….

!! This latest announcement says that they’re transferring the  LMR business to Motorola and that the new Yaesu will be “wholly owned by the founder’s family”, I guess this means that Motorola is selling their stake in Vertex Standard back to the Hasegawa family… Do ut des !!

Japan Earthquake 8.9R, 2011 Prayers for all people in Jp. – Jarl Aresec traffic and more

Japan Earthquake 8.9 and Tsunami! Prayers for all people in Japan, God bless them!! -  (Clik the photo and thumbnails to enlarge)
Both ICOM, Kenwood and Vertex Standard have issued statements concerning the affect of the earthquake on their factories.

It appears Icom’s facilities at Osaka and Wakayama are in the south of the country and Kenwood’s primary office facilities in Yokohama and Hachioji are to the south and west of the quake’s epicentre. Kenwood’s primary manufacturing facility is located in Malaysia. The production of Yaesu Amateur Radio equipment at Vertex Standard’s factory in Fukushima, Japan, has been temporarily halted due to earthquake damage. It is understood the factory is just 60km from the quake-stricken nuclear reactors ! – See the Link below

Of course all radioamateurs will keeps the people of Japan in their thoughts and prayers during this time of extreme disaster. - Sad times for Japan, especially folks living near Sendai. The disaster area is in the north east, where the Tsunami hit the coastline and also the earthquake was closest to the epicenter.  In the most affected Northern Japan, main highways remain closed, strictly available for emergency aid vehicles.

Terremoto in Giappone 8.9 e Tsunami!  Naturalmente tutti i radioamatori non mancheranno di tenere il popolo giapponese nei loro pensieri e nelle preghiere in questo momento di disastro estremo. Tempi tristi per tutto il Giappone, soprattutto per la gente che vive vicino a Sendai. La zona del disastro si trova a nord est, dove lo tsunami ha colpito lungo la costa ed il terremoto è stato più violento essendo più vicina all’epicentro.

Il 45° Trofeo Luigi Fagioli 2010 a Gubbio, valido per il campionato CIVM Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna, si è concluso dopo belle giornate  nelle verdi valli di Gubbio in Umbria. See the Report by photos (clik the thumbnails to enlarge) and watch  the video below

Il 21 e 22 agosto 2010 – Con 267 piloti al via e un foltissimo pubblico il 45° Trofeo Luigi Fagioli, organizzato dal Comitato Eugubino Corse Automobilistiche (CECA) e valido quale IX^ prova del Campionato Italiano Velocità Montagna (CIVM). Vittoria per Simone Faggioli, che alla guida dell’Osella FA30 Zytek ha fatto il miglior tempo in entrambe le manche di gara, sul percorso di 4,15 km da Gubbio a Madonna della Cima, col tempo complessivo di 3’15″30. Alle sue spalle Christian Merli, su Picchio P4/E2, a 7″77, e Michele Camarlinghi (Osella PA30 Zytek) a 8″77. Ottime anche le prestazioni di Carmelo Scaramozzino su Lola Zytek, Franco Cinelli sul Lola T99 e di Piero Nappi su Osella FA30 -

ARI-RE Associazione Radioamatori Italiani Radiocomunicazioni Emergenza  di Perugia ed alcuni colleghi di due Sezioni limitrofe nonchè  colleghi del Cisar di zona, anche quest’anno hanno trascorso altri due giorni di grande impegno per i Radioamatori che dalle prime ore del mattino sino alle 19.00 di sera hanno svolto ininterrottamente la loro opera per le Radicomunicazioni di Emergenza. Comunicazioni radio servite per il coordinamento delle Postazioni degli Ufficiali di Gara, ben 22 lungo il complesso percorso e molte dotate di tutti i mezzi di pronto intervento e soccorso, sia per il coordinamento e controllo, dallo Start allo Stop, e di tutto il  tragitto in salita per il tramite la Direzione di Gara di Roberto Riva

L’organizzazione tecnico-operativa per la completa copertura radio e i rapporti con il Comitato Organizzatore C.E.C.A. sono stati curati  da I0KWX, Vincenzo Belloni – Presidente dell’A.R.I. Sezione di Perugia -  Le comunicazioni radio sono state essenziali per la sicurezza e per lo svolgimento dell’impegnativa prova sportiva di velocità!

The EME Conference 2010 in Dallas US – KP4AO on the air for 432 MHz EME

International EME Conference, 2010 (August 12-14, 2010) takes place in Dallas, Texas – Noise Figure Workshop – EME Demonstration by WA5WCP – Dealer Room featuring a number of dealers, – Tours of historic sites and Ladies program. The EME conference will conclude with the traditional Saturday night banquet! — My friend I0NAA Mario (ARI Honor Rool) will be the EME Conference in Dallas!

Equipment Setup for 432 MHz EME: For extra flexibility we used two TS-2000, one for trasmitting and one for receiver, included a GaAsFET pre-amp with noise figure 0.5 dB. International EME Conference, 2010 takes place in Dallas, Texas

[Nota]: EME Communications (Earth Moon Earth) also known as moon bounce, is a Hamateur Radio communications technique which relies on the propagation of radio waves from an Earth-based transmitter directed via reflection from the surface of the Moon!

W5LUA, VE4MA, WA8RJF and the North Texas Microwave Society officially announce the 14th International EME Conference in Dallas, Texas on the 12th,13th and 14th of August 2010. The conference Hotel is The Westin at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport which is just a short shuttle ride from DFW Airport. We have over 100 pre-registered for the conference. E.M.E. Conference 2008, there were more than 168 EME Operators at the 13th International EME Conference 2008 in Florence, Italy (Click on the left to very impressive big image). Ricordo che a Firenza si è tenuta la 13° Conferenza Mondiale EME nel 2008 organizzata in Italia dal CRT Toscana, a cui parteciparono ben 168 Operatori dalle varie parti del mondo. (Cliccare la piccola immagine qui sopra per vedere la grande foto ricordo 2008!!)

Paul, WA5WCP, will be giving an EME demonstration on 1296 MHz out in the hotel parking lot. On Friday at 1800Z (1PM Local) the moon will be up at 22 degrees elevation. This is a low declination moon which won’t give us very much time towards Europe. System will be a 12 ft dish and several watts. Paul will also be on after about 1900Z on Saturday.

The New ARRL Web Site Delayed to “Get it Right” – !! A new President for the ARRL, Kay Craigie N3KN.

After meeting with ARRL staff on February 23, two days before the new ARRL Web site was to launch, ARRL Chief  Operating Officer Harold Kramer, WJ1B, made the decision to delay the unveiling of the Web site until late March. – The current delay is necessary to assure that we have all of the data connections correct.

Il lancio del nuovo sito web della ARRL è stato ancora rinviato a fine Marzo 2010 per la supervisione finale dei tanti servizi online previsti. RF Preselector or not? tiny SCR Heros Tech. Icom DIGISEL Yaesu VRF Harris RF-551A

RF Preselector: New tiny SCR Preselector 1.8MHz to 30MHz Tunable Band Pass Filter Assembled and kit versions. – tiny SCR Preselector (SCR) Software Controlled Radio via USB or I2C Bus (16 bits standard I2C serial bus interface) Made by Heros Technology Ltd in the United Kingdom.
It can be looped between RX OUT and RX IN of the HF Trancseiver, or SDR Receiver.  – A large toroid core T-200-7 is used, the large core offers a non-loaded Q (efficiency) value. A five bands tuneable Band-Pass Filter bank make up the core of the tiny SCR Preselector, and five telecom grade relays for band switching are connected to its corresponding section of the coil through the Band Selector control on the program software

IC-7600 featured in the November 2009 QST review, reviewed by NCJ Managing Editor Rick Lindquist, WW3DE. 2kHz 88dB 3rd-Order Dynamic Range, way better than the 7700 @ 87dB! some data drawn from ARRL product reviews are summarized in the table on following image, compared to Icom IC-7600 IC-7700 IC-7800 and Yaesu FT-2000D.
