FDM-DUO a new SDR rtx made in Italy – ELAD has displayed his “little SDR Tranceiver” at Ham Radio Friedrichshafen 2013. Quite interesting concept to have a stand alone QRP rig at 192kHz sampling, combined with an extended SDR if you use it with a Computer.


It is a Direct Sampling SDR receviver (is an RF Sampler) with a DDC on a FPGA, and a Cortex ARM DSP module for filtering and demodulation in stand-alone mode. In RX and TX directions it is a fully SDR technology. QRP trasmitter 5 W Output Power – CAT Control via USB-2 port dedicated.  (please click image to enlarge)

At home, attached to a faster CPU (computer with FDM-SW1 software o so), you can run it at its full bandwidth of 6144kHz sample rate and use wider bandwidth RX/TX modes, inc. DSB, AM Sync, FM, RTTY, DRM, WB FM+RDS.

WiNRADiO introducing its new SDR EXCALIBUR “Ultra” (beta version)

DX-Pedition to Faroer Island with the prefix OY/PA0VHA from 22.05 till 03.06.2011

OY/PA0VHA and Team DX-Pedition to Faroer Island from 22.05.2011 till 03.06.2011. IOTA EU-018, WLOTA 2216, IP62lc. – The next trip is to a small island the Faroer with the prefix OY. The Faroer is between the Shetlands and Iceland.  Hans PA0VHA, Steef PA2A and Wim PA2AM are qrv from 22-05- till 03-06-2011. all HF bands in CW and RTTY, also qrv on 6m and 4m and Wim PA2AM is also qrv via satelliet AO-51. – QSL via home call.

IW0SAF, Moreno  è attivo in HF e non solo, opera anche nei modi digitali come è il PSK31 nel suo eccellente Shack, dotato di ottimi apparati ed accessori. Qui si nota il suo recente IC-7700 molto adatto e performante anche nelle comunicazioni Digitali RTTY e PSK31 con e senza computer

Nell’IC-7700 il modulatore e demodulatore Boudot RTTY e PSK31 (Ecoder/ Decoder basati sul DSP) sono entrocontenuti, ed è capace di operare in RTTY e PSK31 con il collegamento diretto di una Tastiera (alla porta USB) senza la necessità di utilizzare un Computer esterno.
Collegando, invece, ad un Personal Compuer con tastiera, le operazioni in RTTY e in PSK31 ed altri modi digitali possono essere anche eseguite con  un apposito  software esterno,  installato nel Computer. Nel caso è il MixW multimode software (V2.18). I collegamenti trà PC e RTX  di Moreno avvengono tramite l’interfaccia “microHAM USB Interface II ™”

Baudot RTTY and PSK31 modulator/demodulator (DSP-based encoder/ decoder) is builtin to the IC-7700 and direct keyboard connection capability (port-USB) for RTTY and PSK31 operations without a Personal Computer. Connecting a Personal Compuer and keyboard, RTTY and PSK31 operation can be performed with MixW multimode software installed and “microHAM USB Interface II™” connected from PC and RTX.

PropNET is a system for analyzing and recording HF and VHF circuit quality.
It uses a distributed network of PSK31 stations automatically transmitting and receiving messages and reporting them to a central database, where real-time displays and statistical analyses are generated. We’re interested in real-time propagation detection and long-term analysis of circuit usability, and other interesting uses that the combination of radio and computers can facilitate. [Nota]: IT – Per la partecipazione al progetto PropNET è richiesto l’utilizzo di un software (PropNETPSK – Relesase: Update: January 26, 2009) Scaricare liberamente sia  il software sia la User-Guide sul sito web ufficiale di cui ai link qui sopra.
PropNET PSK analizza e registra in HF e VHF la qualità della popagazione in tempo reale con report e displays via internet dei segnali PSK . Lo scopo principale del progetto PropNET è sviluppare un sistema avvanzato  dedicato al Servizio Automatico di Controllo nell’area Digitale. PropNET ha un codice PHG che è in realtà una stringa PHGDRA/code (include nell’ordine: Potenza, Altezza, Gain, Directivity, Rate, Altezza).
In pratica, PropNET opera in modo molto simile ad APRS (  Come l’APRS le stazioni PropNET formano una rete per la condivisione delle informazioni, proprio come in una tavola rotonda in SSB. Ciò significa che le norme che disciplinano PropNET possono essenzialmente  essere le stesse di quelle che disciplinano l’APRS nei vari paesi.
