The Boeing Company and SkyHook International Inc. announced a teaming agreement to develop the JHL-40 (Jess Heavy Lifter)
Lo “Skyhook JHL-40″ in una immagine virtuale. Si tratta di un interessante accordo per lo sviluppo di questo particolare velivolo commerciale, che combina elementi di un elicottero e di un dirigibile (JHL-40 Jess Heavy Lifter), che sarà costruito dalla Boeing Company insieme alla SkyHook International Inc., che ha sede a Calgary, in Canada. Servirà per trasporto di equipaggiamenti e materiali nelle vaste regioni remote dell’Artico e dell’Alaska, con possibilità di 40 Ton di merci appese, per 200 miglia di autonomia senza rifornimenti;
La Boeing promuove e partecipa alla importante manifestazione del Farborough Internaziotional Airshow.

ENG: The Boeing Company and SkyHook International Inc. today announced a teaming agreement to develop the JHL-40 (Jess Heavy Lifter), a new commercial heavy-lift rotorcraft designed to address the limitations and expense of transporting equipment and materials in remote regions, Canadian Arctic and Alaska
The SkyHook JHL-40 aircraft will be capable of lifting a 40-ton sling load and transporting it up to 200 miles without refueling. Boeing will promote commercial and military aircraft July 14-20, 2008 of the Farnborough International Airshow in England.

Dalla sequenza fotografica tratta dal videio su LiveLake.con, il 21 aprile si è sfiorata la tragedia perchè durante un forte temporale l’aereo della Continental Airlines in decollo è stato colpito in pieno da un fulmine. Panico tra i pessaggeri che comunque non hanno avuto conseguenza, l’aereo che non ha subito gravi danni è stato dirottato sul Baltimor International Airport.
